What I Saw at a Gun Shop Yesterday
I was in a store that caters to military and police yesterday and witnessed an interesting bit of integrity by the sales staff. An African-American couple were talking to a sales clerk and looking at handguns - apparently they were concerned with crime in their neighborhood. I started paying attention as I approached the counter to buy a holster and the clerk was advising the lady to check on pistol courses through the NRA. He then said they should really go to a range that rents guns and try several out, so they'd know what they like before buying a handgun. I mentioned one range not too far away that rents and another customer mentioned another. At this point the lady borrows a pen and starts writing down the names and is very appreciative as they depart.
It isn't often that you see sales staff pass up an easy sale to do the right thing.
