So how long did it take the rest of you Kel Tec .380 owners to figure out that if you say P3AT out loud it sounds like P380?

I had my gun 6 months before I ever called its name out loud and actually heard that!
In the meantime, I was scratching my head wondering why they gave it that strange combination of number and letters.

You know, I actually just realized it the other day myself. Like you, it hit me when I said it out loud. Pretty sly of Mr. Kel Tec.
I'm feeling pretty smart now. I had it figured out from before I even got mine.

I thought it was pretty clever of Keltec to come up with that. I even looked at other calibers to see which ones can be done like that.

the guy whp owns keltec is said to have a weird sense of humor. for instance: PF9 = pretty flat 9.

I actually had it the other way around, due to the fact that I heard about it before I saw it spelled out. My buddy tells me about his awesome carry companion, and later that day I'm browsing the Internet for "Kel-tec P-380", which actually came up with hits by people who apparently heard what I heard. :oops:

LOL... i knew it about a year prior to ownership.. but i suppose i cheated since i have about 6 friends that all own the gun.
I never did realize it until just now! DUH...........lol
