More thin thoughts.

I’ve been giving this thin gun subject a lot of thought. I’ve posted previously that I was looking for something thinner than my G23. But...I may be rethinking my decision. I don’t find any IWB comfortable, even my P3AT. It’s probably just my body type. You know, 6’5”, 220 lbs body builder with 24 inch arms... Okay, Okay, 5’7”, 180 lb, middle aged guy with reading glasses and extra abdominal insulation. :help:

So anyway, I figure what is another 1/8 or 3/16 of an inch if I’m carrying OWB. I’ll deal with the nominal extra thickness to gain a few more rounds. The only problem I have in concealing my G23 is its length. It sometimes hang below my shirt especially if I lift up my arm which makes my shirt go up.

I’m thinking a subcompact in .45 with a light rail. That’s why the XD is looking good to me. Of course, they have not released the subcompact in .45 yet unless I’ve missed that... I just checked their web site. No .45 in subcompact. Do I compromise and get a 9 mm? Hummmm. Or do I look at a ....?

I feel your pain Tony. I have the exact same body type, 5' 7" 180 and any IWB is to much for me.
I find pocket carry or OWB. I can carry my 340PD, P3AT or NAA 22 Mag in my pocket or I go Glock or the like OWB. I think the only solution is to loose a few lb's of the abdominal area and then get a Kahr PM 9 or 40 or P40 or 45 with an IWB rig. That's what I'm shooting for anyway. :smt023

New shirts are cheaper. If you cant find a brand name with the tails you want, buy a tall size. Tall sizes have longer bodys and longer tails.

This is one way I carry my P3AT when it’s not in my homemade pocket holster. I made this one a while back. It’s a tuckable IWB with a holder for my knife to divert attention from a belt keeper. The front is Kydex and the back is leather. More of a suede. It’s not too bad and is manageable comfort wise. But being short, IWB often doesn’t work.

Same size and I prefer OWB as it doesn't rub blisters in all the wrong places. I would do like Mr Bill says if I was having trouble with the shirt. Good luck.

I am 5'8", 165 lb and carry a full size 45 acp either iwb or owb year round with out a problem.

Parr has a great one but don't think I would call it a pocket nor would I the PM45.

What do you carry it in? I couldn't imagine carrying a full size 1911 IWB comfortably.

5'9" 225..Carried a full size 1911 i9n a pancake or belt slide all year round. I resent;y got a Para LTC. It's a 4.5 barrel and carries a lot better.:smt023 I'm thinking about a shoulder rig though that would allow me to rethink the issue all over. IO have one of those UTG oned that I pivked up pretty cheap at a gun show and it can hold several different pistols. My Sig wears well as to it's wqeight and it doesn't poke out or anything but I wouldan't want to carry it in that rig full time..lol..I jut don't like it that much. ..The rig that is..love the Sig,

i can put the walther p22 easily in my relaxed fit jeans
check the dimensions again

In "thin thoughts" I guess my used SIG P-6 has just become "state of the art". Kind of ironic, don't you think?
