    My Vizsla Dawg

He's our best buddy, even though he doesn't hunt (gunshy from fireworks), he's the best dog I've ever had...

He's a character, very affectionate and full of energy. He'll point and fetch anything. If you come in to the house he doesn't think you're happy unless he brings you something. He's also protective and a very good watchdog, doesn't like yelling or fighting and he'll usually get between the agressor and whoever is getting it and get in their face, then at night if he hears something he'll start with a low growl and then a soft woof under his breath then suddenly all heck breaks loose and he rolls into this high baying hound-dog outburst that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up...we call it "the dog alarm", tuff to get back to sleep after he hears something :smt103

The breed was a favorite of the Hungarian Aristocracy and was almost wiped out by the Nazi's in WWII because of that. Luckily they had a few escape and also sent some to America to preserve them.
