Considering you're dealing with the irrational gun laws of the northern states, my advice would be to call the PD of the town you're moving to and get the answer directly from them. No matter how well intentioned the advice given here is, it's not the legal answer and could be wrong. Best to play it safe when it comes to issues that, if handled wrong, can get you a bunk mate named Bubba.

Yeah, I called my local pd and a very helpful policeman told me I'm better off getting a new license issued when I move and then follow the procedure for application from the there. He said every time I move they have to re-start the process. Makes sense, in a NJ kind of way.
