Can anyone tell me if an LTC or FID is required to buy attachments for attachments such as lasers or optics? Is it a state specific? I am in the process of obtaining my class a LTC and while I am waiting I was thinking about buying a laser for the handgun I was planning on getting for home defense.
I don't believe attachments of that sort are regulated under any firearms laws in the US. After all, it's just a laser or telescope with a slightly funny mount.
No.....no permit or license is needed for attachments.
But, don't talk about it out loud, as a politician might overhear and give him an idea.
