Go to a shooting range, rent the choices out, and see which one feels the best for you.
Hello I am pretty new to handguns. My dad wants to get me a handgun of my choice for my birthday. I did some research and I found a few that I liked. I just need some advice on which one people will recommend the most. I have a $1000 limit.
Five Seven
PX4 storm baretta
Hecklar and Koch HK45
Glock 21
or
Sig Sauer P-229
.40 cal and .357 barrel
Go to a shooting range, rent the choices out, and see which one feels the best for you.
They are all good choices, as stated above try them and see what fits you and your needs best
Also you may want to think of use. Target or protection.
You really need to try to shoot them, they are all different feeling and handling. Also, while recoil is subjective, you don't necessarily want to learn a handgun with alot of recoil. The 9 and I believe the 5.7 are mild, the 45 in an HK will be mild, and the 40 and 357 are going to be a bit more intense and flip more. The 5.7 is a cool round,it shoots very flat but it isn't cheap or available everywhere.
Of your choices,I'd take the HK,it and arguably the FN are the highest quality guns on the list. You may want to consider the compact if carry comes into play, fullsize HKs don't hide real easy.
Good luck, and enjoy testing them out if you can.
Also,welcome and Happy Birthday.
Welcome! I agree with the others here; go out and rent whatever pistols you are interested in, then make your decision!
well right now my main goal is just for target practice but the best concealed weapon is my main outlook. I will try to attend a shooting range to figure out which is best for me
Five Seven -> You can only get target loads if your a civilian, still a good gun though
PX4 storm BERETTA -> Good gun, you're 1000 buck limit could be used for ammo + holster
Hecklar and Koch HK45 -> Dude get this gun 3rd
Glock 21 -> Dude get this gun 2nd
Sig Sauer P-229 -> Dude get this gun 1st
.40 cal and .357 barrel -> .40 .45 9mm IMO... .357 sig hard to find
