if you both live in tennessee and you and your father can both legally own firearms..... you can just give it to him, no paperwork, no legal crap, just do it
Hi, I am wanting to get my father a gift for his bday/christmas since they are so close to one another. Now, I believe that it is illegal to just give him a firearm so I had planned on selling it to him for a minimal cost. My concern is that I don't want to do this illegally and want to make sure that we are within the boundaries of the law. We both live in Tennessee. Is it okay for me to do so. If it makes any difference I will be selling him either a 20ga, 28ga, or a .410 shotgun. Just haven't decided on that part yet. Any and all input is helpful. I had also planned on calling local police to see what they have to say. Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the info. I thought that it was illegal to just give it to him. Guess I was wrong, thanks again.
Not illegal in Tenn at all.
Make sure you gift wrap it though.
Some ammo would be nice too.
