    permit question

    Can a person hunt and subsequently own shotguns without a cc license? That is---- is the pistol permit a separate entity from what's necessary to hunt? or are they one in the same?

    No license is required to own a shotgun in NYS. A license is required to hunt with it. A handgun permit is a separate document.

    In general, confirm any advice you get on the internet though. Your local pistol permit office is a good resource.
