I'm going to pick up my new Sig P226 next week from a local gun dealer. What do I need to visually check for to make sure it hasn't been used and or dry fired? This is my first gun. I just want to make sure I'm getting what I paid for (new gun).
Well, it will be fired. You'll find the target in the top of the box whee they test fire the weapon before sending it out. so it will have been cycled. But you should not see wear on the barrel (scratches or finish loss) and it should not have a bunch of crap in it or on it.. If you ordered it from a shop they will get you what you paid for. That is if it's a reputable shop. You picked a pretty good weapon to start off a collection or as a "daily driver". It's hard to beat a Sig
