      Kel Tec pf9 problem

Hello, I am new to the forum and am pretty excited to gain knowledge from all of you. My concealed carry is a Kel tec pf9. I have around 250 rounds through it and the barrel is putting small groves in the lower frame. Also the last time I shot, I had several FTE's. Are the groves normal and do they have anything to do with the FTE's?

      Thank you for the help.

I can't say I've experienced that with my PF9. I don't see how the barrel would leave marks on the frame. If you could post some photos, it would be helpful in trying to diagnose your problem.

My advice? Send it back to Kel Tec and they will square it away for you. They will probably rebuild the whole pistol for you...they seem to do things like that.

Newby here so hope im posting this correctly... I have had zero issues after returning mine and undergoing the re-build process mentioned here...now I have full confidence in the piece. Rebuild was so extensive I received a modified serial number. The first time I returned the piece it came back in the same condition, and I was concerned that they had done nothing to resolve the issues. But, after the second return, and some strong complaints, I received a great pistol. A little frustrating, but I wanted to stick in the price range KelTec offered, and still enjoy the benefits of this diminutive carry weapon in this caliber.

I've got a PF9 as well. I like it alot. Another poster gave you the right advice, Kel-tec will help you with your problems no question. You could before that try tighting or loosening the screw by the extractor

DO NOT LOOSEN THE EXTRACTOR SCREW!

That screw also retains the firing pin, which will jam if you set the extractor screw to the wrong amount of interior protrusion.

BTW: Battering of the firing-pin-retention end of the extractor screw is the reason why Kel-Tec suggests against dry firing without a snap-cap in the chamber.
