Hi everyone,
I shot my new PF9 yesterday and was impressed with it. I know it's not a range gun so to speak. It was bought to carry.
I've seen that Kel Tec now has a +1 grip extension and was wanting to know if anyone has tried it. I'm also looking for opinions on the trigger shoe. The trigger seemed to cut into my finger after 20 rounds or so.

Mine has function flawlessly for 2 years now. Not fun to shoot, but it's supposed to be comforting, not comfortable. The trigger shoe is a must have, it take alot of the bite out. I would recommend using some JB weld to make it permanent, as the set screws don't hold it down that well. I used a pin vise to make small holes where the set screws contact the trigger, then put epoxy around the back to secure it. Rock solid, and looks factory made.
Good luck with the new gun. I would not buy a gun I can't shoot often. Even if you are to carry it not shoot it at the range. You still need to practice with it and become proficient. If you can't shoot it with out it hurting you thats a deal breaker for me. It needs to be comfortable as well as comforting to ride in a holster I wear.

RCG, I hear you, but most small guns are not "fun" to shoot. I had a Ruger LCP for light carry - I shot 25rnds through it every month, but it sure wasnt fun. I put 100rnds a month through my PF9 and dont mind it that much at all - yes my Beretta is smoother - it's a full-size, steel-body gun that absorbs a lot of the recoil - but I shoot the PF9, use it in Pocket Carry Shooting Matches and rely on it for daily protection, like it's meant for.
You are dead-on that you need to be willing to shoot it frequently if you are going to carry it. I consider it my own personal "qualifying" event - 100 rnds into a pie plate at 7 yards every month or so just to keep the muscle memory sharp.
I know what you mean about the trigger on the PF9. I had one, but traded it off on the P11. It just handled better for my large hands.Quote:

I have also seen threads about heating and molding the triggers shape that could be an answer for you also. Some people have had success using shrink tubing on the trigger.
