Check which generation P3AT you have. The 1st gen pistols have a guiderod holder and ejector which are loose fit and can walk on you.

If you have a manual it tells you how to take down the P3AT. If I remember correctly, the tell you to hold the gun in a particular way when dissassembling. You are correct in thinking that the pin directly above the trigger is the "key", at least it is on my P3AT.

Yep, found an online manual. That button I was talking about is the assembly pin. It pulls out and wah lah. Thanks
