    P-11 for IDPA

Hey all. I shot my very first IDPA match today. The GADPA championship match. (I placed second to dead last BTW). I chose to bring my p-11 to Atlanta (from north of the mason dixon line) instead of my 1911 becasue i have shot it more, recently, and wanted to see how it would do. I was very pleased overall with the performance of the pistol (as opposed to the shooter). I had no operational issues (as of now this pistol has had about 325-350 rounds through it and a f&b. I think that with some practice (on my part) this can be a competitive pistol. The two things I had issues with.....
    1. the SO's wanted to see a hammer drop on an empty chamber, and we had a few discussions about this. I will probably order a couple of fp springs and pins if i continue to use this for IDPA. I shot with this, because it is my carry gun, and i want to use my carry gun for anything like this so that I get more practice with it, espescially if it is in a more (even artificially) stressful situation.
    2. (and this is not that big and partially me also.) The long DA pull did slow me down some on two stages that engaged faster moving targets (from hands relaxed at side, at buzzer they moved). On one of these stages i got a "failure to negate target". on the other i got 1 hit in the -1 zone.. and the other dead center of COM. So this is not a big issue, but i am willing to bet that no matter how much i practice i will not be overly competitive with the wonder guns (glucks, springers, m&ps etc) in part due to this. Anyone else used this for idpa?
