New P-32 and range report

Hey all, a few days ago, I went and bought a hard chromed P-32(2nd gen) for a decent price and just love this gun. I know, I know a few months ago, I was thoroughly "disgusted" with one, well I saw the light and realized what a great gun it really was. It is so thin and light and fun to shoot too. Accuracy was more than impressive with those "sights" and long but smooth pull and having to use my left hand (right still in splint). I got through 30 rounds or so (WWB 71gr. fmj flat nose), and then something just didn't feel right. Stupidly I pulled the trigger again and click.... wait my 30 sec, drop magazine and retract slide. Empty case falls out. So, I say to myself, "Huh, that's wierd" I got my surfire out and lit from muzzle end to see if I could see light at breech. nothing. I stripped it and sure enough there was a round stuck halfway down the barrel much to my dismay. Well I packed it up and continued helping my wife with her new gun. Anyway back at the counter I asked the owner what the best way to dislodge a stuck bullet was and he said he could do it right there. He took the barrel to the back and came back 2 min later with a tiny 71gr. bullet and my, now good as new, barrel. My best guess is there was little or no powder in the round and it was enough to lodge the bullet and recock the hammer, but not fully rack the slide (thank God). Well I think I'm gonna call Winchester and complain, but I don't know. I'm worried to shoot the rest of 'em. I'm mad I couldn't try out my 60gr. Corbon JHP (1000 fps from this tiny barrel). Well I like the gun, it rides buttoned up in my left breast pocket un noticed for now. I need a pocket holster for the summer, still researching those. Anyway here's some pics for yall. What a cool little gun, she will accompany me everywhere.

I think the KelTec is becoming the new, pocket-size Dark Side. Sort of a mini-Darth.

Anyway, sorry to hear about the squib load. It happens. Luckily autos let you know, since they don't cycle with squibs. You handled it right.

I once found a single 9mm in the styrofoam tray of a box of WWB .40s. Possibly quality control isn't as high with the generic blasting ammo as with the premium defensive stuff.

Were you shooting at Chris's place in Guilford? Next time you're there ask him if he remembers Mike from Traditions, who was a friend of Bob from Mossberg.

I moved to AZ before he got the range. He was still in a small shop in New Haven when I knew him. IIRC, a guy named Frank owned Guilford before Chris, and absurdly called it "Gunsite." I did teach my first-ever solo NRA Basic Pistol course there, though.

Thanks for the pic. Would you happen to have the model/stock number in anticipation of me getting a Ruger LCP? I'll need a pocket holster for it.

The stock number is PRO436.

Though it is clearly a copy of the P3AT, I'm not entirely convinced the LCP - with its much longer and differently-shaped trigger guard - is going to fit in P3AT holsters. If the LCP is a hit, and all indications are that it will be, I am very sure Galco will alter the stitching pattern on the Pocket Protector and offer it for the Ruger.

I just put a laser (armalaser) on my P3AT... Much faster target re-aquisition with "no" sights. Fits in the old Uncle Mikes pocket holster for my Kahr.
