    I caved... P-3AT

Okay, so I said 9mm minimum a hundred times...

    I bought a Kahr PM40, and a XD9SC, and a Kel-Tec P11, and they're all too big for the right front pocket.

No, I didn't trade my XD... upon death only. I sold the P11, and got a P-3AT. Hard Chrome, NIB $289.

Bought a box of Remington Golden Saber 105gr for it, loaded it up, and stuffed it in my front pocket. It's been in there for 2hrs, and I keep having to check to see if I lost it... SO LIGHT, SO SLIM... I know: "It kicks like a tiny mule", we'll see tomorrow. Not a range gun... a when nothing else fits in the wardrobe gun. And a BUG just in case.

I paid an extra $20 for the hard chrome slide, because I hated the black finish on the P11... This one almost looks NICE???

    Range report tomorrow.

    Congrats!

I picked one up just for the heck of it, and have been quite pleased and even impressed at how accurate it is, and how well it functions. I keep it loaded with Hornady XTP's at all times, and carry it monday through friday while at work. I think that you will find that it doesn't actually kick like a mule at all. I find them quite tame to shoot.

In case you didn't know, the ejector is a separate piece that slips into a groove in the frame rail. It will fall out if the stripped frame is turned upside down, and some people have either missed it's absence completely, or lost it and couldn't find it.

I would like to get a Ruger LCP when it comes out, but I have absolutely no justification for buying one since the P3AT does so well. Then again, I never let that stop me before....

A .380 that you carry will always out - shoot any 9 mm .40 Cal, or .45 gun left at home.

Amen on better than no gun a'tall! Had a 1st gen p3at for several years and I actually enjoy shooting it. I did polish it's innards and it's been 100%reliable for last 2 years. Have to wait and see on Ruger. Had some bad experiences with them. Just keep a firm grip on it and give it a good breakin.

I hope you know that Mikes going to be real proud of you Jeff.
All kidding aside they are great little pistols when used within their bounds. It will take a little getting use to but I know you can handle it. I am using 95gr ball in mind now as it seems to swallow them better. Good luck with yours.

Yes, the only 380 hollowpoints they had were the Remington Golden Saber 105s at the time. The guy at the shop suggested CCI's since they seemed to feed really well.

    All the P-3AT owners:

What does yours eat best for SD?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

I've run all kinds of target ammo through mine and for PD, I carry Golden Sabers. I've run about 30 Golden Sabers through it (6 at a time) without a problem. Do yourself a favor and get a Houge mini grip for it. Just trim the bottom a bit to fit but it will help immensely on the range. Also, add a Desantis Nemesis holster for the pocket.

Hey Jeff you might look at the Don Hume pocket holster too. I am real happy with mine. Keeps it right where I want it.

I'm looking at the finger hook mag extension, which will get me THREE solid fingers on the grip... or the one-shot mag extension from Kel-Tec with hopes of a 4-finger grip. I only have a finger and a half on the grip below the trigger guard now.

    Has anyone tried them?

I have mine on order. I'm getting the blued version at $269. Does that seem right?

Already have my eye on the pocket holster for it. The only thing that bothers me is reading posts on the Kel-Tec Forum. These don't seem to be trouble free guns, but it will be the smallest one in my collection.

I've got to stay off these forums or work harder to support this hobby.

$269 for blued is good. Mine was $289 for chromed. I didn't even deal on the blued verion, but it was $25 less MSRP.

First full day in the pocket... almost forgot it.

You can use the finger ext. from a Bersa .380, It fits the kel tec but not vice versa.
