Hey guys,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Mike, and I have recently purchased my first handgun. A S&W .38 special 2" barrel. Nice and lightweight, got some good kick behind it. I did get my CCW, now I feel naked when I'm not carrying.
Florida recently passed the "shoot first ask questions later" law. There are even huge billboards at the state line entrance at I-95 and I-75 warning tourists of this law!
I look forward to getting some good and helpful info from this forum.
Talk to ya soon,
--Mike--
Well Howdy tv dir from the other side of the sandbar. I'm in Largo, near Clearwater. Which model S&W did you pick up? And yes, there is a lot of usefull information posted here. Just remember, no matter what anyone says, there are only ten rules written in stone. Enjoy.
Hey drummin man, I also play. Started playing the drums in 1964....was full-time player from '74 till circa '86! Just got BURNT OUT....if ya get my drift.
Here's a pic of the new S&W. Model 642 - Centennial Airweight. Look forward to talking with you again

Welcome from the upstate of SC
Welcome!
I'm new to this forum too... from Seattle, the "Way too P.C. West"
So far, so good. Everybody has been real friendly and helpful.
Count me in as drummer #3. Well, to call me a drummer is an insult to drummers. Let's just say I hit drums with sticks while I count to four in my head...
I used to carry a 1911 frame .40 Para but will be upgrading to a .45 SA-XD before the summer is out.
I gave up carrying a few years ago but just can't go naked anymore. As soon as the state clears my CPL (as we call them here in WA) I'll be strapped again.
The folks here have helped me to decide on which model and caliber I'll be starting over with. I'm sure glad I ran across this site.
