I've got a Kel Tec P3AT as a pocket gun. It my American Express card; green and I never leave home without it.
Disclaimer: I am not in any way endorsing illegal concealed carry.
Hi all, I am looking for a small gun that I can carry without it being in the way or being noticable. I have been away from guns for quite some time- the last gun I bought was a Ruger P85 when they first came out. In the Past I had a Raven 25auto, Bulldog 44 Special, Taurus 357, Tarus 38, S&W .22, and the P85. The Bulldog was my favorite but it was just too bulky to carry.
I live in a state with no concealed carry but I am starting to think it's better to be arrested for having it than to be mugged. Twice in the past week I have had run ins with crack addicts.....
Just from looking at a few gun magazines I have picked out the lightweight Kel-Tec 32ACP or 380auto. Also I see North American arms offers a cool looking small revolver chambered in the .17 rimfire cartridge. Is the .17 any good? I kind of like the idea of a revolver over an auto for the durability. Lets here some of your thoughts. thanks![]()

I really don't want to carry illegal but Wisconsin does not give permits. I would hate to get caught with it by the police but I would hate to get caught without one by the crackheads. What have you heard about the .17 rimfire cartridge?
Well, I know nothing of the rimfire, but just to interject with:
Perhaps you should look at the penalty for being caught and some of the cases that went to court... just so you'll know what will happen.
Also not endorsing illegal carry.
Just throwing it out there man. I'm not in your situation. Just saying you might want to see what you're up against... even if you do it anyway, it's just nice to know how screwed you are if you get caught.
Like I said, not in your situation, just throwing it out there.
class A misdomeaner- up to a $10,000 fine and up to nine months jail. My lawyer says with no priors I would see a small fine.
Good deal.
(not endorsing haha)
What happens if you are carrying and fire in blatent self defense? Does the fact that you were carrying affect your self defense actions?
the only way I would fire is if it was a life or death situation and in that respect I would say I would rather be alive sitting in jail than dead. There was actually a case in Milwaukee a while back where a pizza delivery guy shot two muggers who tried to rob. They admitted they tried to rob him and the driver was charged six moths later and was out on a $1,500 bond. Not sure of the final outcome though.
Welcome Darkside. I am one of the outlaws who is now able to carry within the law. Why did I carry all those years? Because I will defend my family at all cost no matter what. I will not let a peice of paper or plastic or some pencil neck politician keep me from protecting them. If I go to jail oh well that's better than a dirt overcoat.
Now I carry a Kel-Tec .3AT all the time in my right front pocket. They are a snappy little thing that takes a little getting use to but they are worth it in my book. Good luck on your choice.
Welcome to the forum, glad you're here! New guy buys cigars.![]()
Welcome to the forum. The Kel-Tec P3AT is a decent choice. I carried one for approx 2 years. Some advice, (1) Gun laws are always changing, & (2) NEVER trust a lawyer.
Well since my first post I had another confrontation with two undesirables while I was picking up a customers car they started yelling obscenities at us and started coming towards us. We went back in the building until they left. They were rough looking like they had been sleeping outside
Another guy that works at a place I do business with had two undesirables rear end him in a beater during his lunch hour and drove off.
A shooting a few blocks from work leaves one in critical condition.
I found out why our crime has gone from the typical small mid-western city crime to big city crime in a few years- a retirement community just outside city limits has been converted into a half way house for sex criminals and they come into town unsupervised during the day and when they are done with the halfway house some just stay here in our city and live off the system. Also the city manager has been doing some type of charter program to raise cash for his projects. What the charter program does is relocate people from the Chicago/Rockford area to our town. But the people they relocate here are criminals just out of prison........................
Glad you are here. Check out this thread P9 compared to PM9
I have one of these and it is a good gun that is very concealable.
That Kahr looks like a nice gun. I have to go shopping this weekend and handle a few of these guns I have been looking at on the web.
Evidently this city manager has done the same thing in the last two cities he was manager in- last week the city had to settle a lawsuit because he fired a sick employee just so they could cut costs. A lot of money this saved them.
One of my favorites is a Ruger SP101 in .357.

Welcome !!!![]()
A little pricy, but what about the HK P2000 Sk subcompact?
i carry the ruger SP101 about 90 percent of the time. i highly reccomend it. in your situation where 'deep conceal' is important, a keltec 380 might work better for you. i don't have any personal experience with them, but i trust the opinions of the members of this forum who suggest them. they are very concealable and the 380 should serve the purpose if needed. i saw a bumper sticker once that said " better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6". you do what you have to do to protect yourself and your loved ones.
Hawgs are great, friend has one. Can be on the high side of price though. Also if you have small hands can be tought to keep it down after shooting multiple times.
The new Walther PPS looks like a good one to me!
Get your carry permit! Like a weapon, better to have it and not need it!
