Hello and Welcome!
I moved to Washington State about half a year ago and am looking to buy myself a handgun (preferably a glock). I have been trying my best to read thorugh all of the laws relating to gun possession, but all I could find pertained to concealed weapons.
Are there any laws in Washington which require for background checks, waiting periods, etc. if you are looking to purchase a handgun? I am not going to carry it in any manner which would make it concealed under the statutes enacted here in Washington.
Also, if anyone knows of a reputable store in the area where I could buy a gun I would much appreciate it. I havve been looking online, but would really rather make a more "hands-on" purchase.
Thanks for any help in advance!

Welcome from down in the swamp.
I am afraid that only people in your state can answer this. U may want to report your question in the Washington state area of this site - to gain the attention of your fellow Washington residents.
My advice, and what I would do if I were you, would be to go to a couple of gun stores. Just browse, and then ask the staff there.
Then, do the same at another one. If the stories match up, then U are good to go. Just follow their instructions.
Honestly, going to "Two" shops and asking is probably unnecessary. But since you are worried about it, I figured it would ease your mind. They sell guns everyday, and must do so legally or will loose their license. So, they'll tell U the truth.
Welcome aboard. Enjoy the hunt for your first gun.

Welcome to the forum, glad you're here! New guy buys cigars.
Thanks for all the welcomes! I think I'll check out the Washington State portion of this forum and see what info I can glean from there. Once I have the time (which looks to be the weekend right now) I'm going to check out a couple of gun shops, thanks for the advice!
