Welcome!
HK or Beretta...?
Between the two... Beretta, but you'll be getting different opinions from everyone... so take it all in and make your decision.![]()
hey im new here...im 22 and im going to apply for my concealed weapon license....and hopefully purchase a handgun.
I have been around weapons and guns my whole life as my father owns anywhere from ar-15's, ak-47, glocks, smith and wessons, etc...
my main reason for purchasing a hand gun is for fun (shooting range) and of course home protection.
Two gun companys im looking at right now is Beretta and HK...which do u guys recommend between the two?
thanks and hope to learn a lot from you guys!

thanks for the advice....
why beretta for you?
I'm not that familiar with HK and I use to own 2 Berettas... a Beretta 92FS and a Beretta Cougar 8000F. Both great guns, but I was bitten by the 1911 bug and the AR15 bug and sold them.
Stop by the Beretta section and check out some info...

i was looking into th handguns...what exactly are the 1911's? Sorry im new to actual naming and series of handguns
The 1911 is a semi auto handgun designed by John M Browning for the military. It was adopted by the military in 1911 and it's most popular chambering is 45 ACP. It's also available in 22LR, 9mm, 38 sper, 40 S&W, 10 mm, 45 GAP and 51 GI. We have a section devoted to the 1911 here, take a look at it.
Welcome to the forum, glad you're here! New guy buys gigars.![]()

I have owned both Berettas and Hks.
I have owned a few 92s and a Cougar over the years. And, I used to own a HK USP fullsize, and I currently own the compact USP.
If the fullsize USP is not too big for your hand (I have small hands, and this was my problem - why I sold it), I'd recommend it over the Beretta. The frame mounted safety is very nice. And, U can leep the gun cocked and locked (the safety on, but the gun cocked - like a 1911).
Triggers can vary from specimen to specimen, but the fullsize USP I had had a sweet SA pull on it.
The flip side is that U can change out a spring and lighten the DA pull on the Beretta by maybe 2lbs.
