Hello,
I am new to this forum but have been using it for recommendations on the purchase of a new handgun. After viewing I chose a new Ruger SP101 .38 Special which I am happy with. I then purchased a Taurus Model 85 .38 Special. The Taurus doesn't come close to Rugers craftsmanship or ruggedness. The Ruger's barrel is twice as thick as the Taurus. I bought the Ruger for personal protection at my office, and the Taurus for home protection. I was looking for a 22lr semiautomatic pistol and bought a Ruger MarkIII with a bull barrel. My kids love plinking and this is the perfect gun for that, very smooth and cheap to shoot. Without this forum's information I would not have made wise choices. This forum is a great place for information and I thank everyone for posting their suggestions and advice. By the way, I purchased the Taurus against the forums recommendations, but will never do that again.

By the way, I purchased the Taurus against the forums recommendations, but will never do that again.
