Hello from Alaska

Hi everyone, just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a 21 year old college student, and I'm a big firearm enthusiast. I found this site while looking at another gun related website. I do exercise my right to carry a concealed handgun, due to a near fatal encounter with a crazed drunk. I love AK47s, 1911s, 357 Magnum revolvers, and .22s caliber rifles, and just about anything that goes bang with every pull of the trigger.

Always nice to hear from someone living in heaven. Was there on vacation in '95. Will not return...no way could I come back to boring, grey, flat Ohio. What a majestic state. I even saw where lives at the North Pole.

North Pole, AK is an intresting place. I was there in the summer with my kids and it was still cool to see. I always liked Fairbanks but it's just too da%$ cold. A nephew is going to be stationed there. Moving from AZ to AK. What a transition!

Welcome to the crazy world of handguns. I, too, was in Alaska in the Air Force in 1976. The guy previously is absolutely correct. It is ,by far , the Greatest State! I spent a year up there working on the Early Warning Radar systems during the Cold War! Spent some time in Anchorage and the rest at Indian Mt. AFS. I've been to Galena, also. The only reason I don't live there now is.... It Is TOO DAMN COLD!!! I'm a hot weather person. I can handle 100 deg. over anything below 20 degs.

I was stationed at Elmendorf AFB from 1979-1983. Security Police. Wasn't the cold war fun. Scrambling F-4’s and later F-15’s to escort Soviet bombers (Bear’s) back to their air space when they "accidentally" flew into ours.
