Welcome to the forum. In 2003, we lived in the Dallas area, but missed the College Station area too much, and came back after 8 months.
Went to a couple of meetings of the Toyota club while I was there.
Anyway, welcome aboard![]()
Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum,
I'm fairly new, all around... New to handguns, but not to firearms if you consider paintball and bb guns a "true" firearm...
I've been a firearm enthusiast for as long as i can remember... I too... like a few others, wanted to find a semi cheaper hobby, i don't remember exactly when or where i came across the idea of getting a Walther but i did... P99 9MM...
As my first handgun i am really enthused about having alot of fun with it, and learning alot...
My main source of fun for the past while has been attending the local Z meets. only problem is... they are every two weeks, and i have a weekend with nothing to do!!! AHH!!!![]()

Welcome to the forum. I pretty much grew up in Dallas/Plano. My trip there last year reminded me just how humid it is there. I moved to Arizona from there and thought how much nicer the dry heat is compared to Texas.
YEAH... rub it in.... lol...
i hate the humid heat too... and it's really not that good for racing either... maybe it won't be as big a burden on firearms...lol
What kind of racing?
I did some autocross in Phoenix for a while.
Welcome. Mentioning Walther you just became Shipwreaks freind.
Welcome to the forum, glad you're here! New guy buys cigars.![]()
well i'm glad about that... always need an ally...lol... but these forums are always more respectful and courteous than auto forums... i don't know why... but there is always a big ego trip over there...
which do you like? where do i find it? lol
i was waiting for someone to point out a formality
umm... some illegal... (ehhem) once drag... over at Texas Motorplex... it was great... although i've just recently been turned off of it...
mainly intrest in firearms, and automotive stuff is expensive...![]()
i was looking into autocrossing with a few other "Z" buddies... but i was reading some of the track rules and regs... and they don't cover damages under insurance or anything... plus my regular coverage probably won't cover it either... so i'm kinda against the autocrossing my car...
but to answer your question... not much of anything... the car i race is my daily driver so it wouldn't make much sense to run it into the ground...
needed a new hobby... Walther is looking like a Golden Ticket right now...HA!
if anything i just said makes any sense... (i have a tendancy to make non at all)![]()
No problem with making sence of it. Welcome from down in the swamps and enjoy your new hobby. It will become like a drug you have to have it. Good luck.
I go to the 1/8 mile drag strip on the southeast side of Fort Worth in Kennedale. I take my daily driver Mustang out there. Our plan was if we wreck, we would push our car outside the race track then call it in. They can't deny the claim because you were on your way to the racetrack. hehehehe... I haven't been as much since I got into guns but I still hang with a lot of my friends from the local Mustang message board. And you're so right about the attitude on gun forums vs. sports car forums. I guess the average age is quite different.
Where in DFW are you?
I only went once to race there, only because one of my Z friends wanted to see if his mods were doing anything justifiable... i hit a 14.3 on a 1/4 and his fastest was 13.8... not bad for a N/A Z...
If i did that i would just hope that my car still rolls afterwards... otherwise it's gonna be a really long day... or get a tow truck...lol!!!
I'm in Arlington, right off I-30...
