Dang, can't seem to get my intro started! I did a little blackpowder and some Enfield .303 shooting in the very early 80's. In the early 90's I worked as a security guard while trying to finish college, and we had to shoot to qualify. After wanted a semi-auto pistol for 25+ years my lovely wife swallowed her discomfort with the idea and I went shooting a week ago this past Friday. The local gun shop has a range and rental guns and I went through all the models and calibers that seemed interesting.
Of the past 9 days I have been at the range for 7, trying different guns and taking notes. This past Friday I bought a SIG SP2022 "sig pro". This past Friday was my *wife's* birthday, so you can see how silly she is in loving me.
Goals include competition shooting, probably PPC next year and maybe IDPA the year after that. Reloading to lower costs, and lots of practice on lots of things. While I may never win there will be chances to get out and play, and meet new friends.
