    Smile Another newbie, but this one's from CA

    I'm expecting to get at least a little crap for being from CA, but at least the weather is usually nice.

    I've been shooting for a couple of years now, but don't go nearly as often as I'd like. I'm considering a handgun or possibly shotgun purchase, but the Mrs. and my bank account are both a little gun shy. She's very cool though, and a better shot than me I must sheepishly admit.

    A good friend of mine has an XD .40, and I've rented a variety of others. My favorite to date is a Beretta 9mm (other than an XD 1911 with a custom trigger that a guy at the range let me try), but I'd like more experience before making a purchase decision.

    It's great to be here, and I look forward to learning all that I can about handgun shooting.
