    Hi from northern Wisconsin!

    I'm a college student who is part of the rifle team because of my interest in shooting and guns. I'm hoping to learn a bit more about guns so maybe I can figure out which handgun I want to buy while I'm reading through the forum.

    I have a Ruger SR9c and I love it. 9mm and very manageable recoil. It has a composite frame and fits my hand like a glove. If it fits yours, you will know the instant you pick it up that it is the one for you. If you like something just a bit bigger, a Sig SP2022 is nice. Both are right around $450-500 right now. The Sig is also 9mm.

    Welcome! I'm in SE Wisconsin. My advice is to find a range that has rental guns and shoot them all to find out your wants and needs.
