    New guy in Dublin Ireland.

    Hi all, just a quick hello from Dublin, Ireland. Been shooting on and off since the mid '60's. Currently have a Buckmark Standard, .22 rifle and remington 870. Hope to be able to pick your brains and contribute as much as possible. Ciao.

    Welcome. I'm a second gen son of Irish immigrants. Frequently been over as a kid, but not been in awhile. My relatives there (Mayo and Donegal) tell me Ireland has "gone very European" in its politics and cultural arc. Has this impacted gun laws? What is the state of gun laws in Ireland these days?

    My folks more or less escaped from Cork sometime in the late 1700's, after somehow pissing off the British crown. Even changed their last name to something that sounded more English, but apparently it didn't help. We've been pissing people off ever since.

    I was fascinated and surprised to see the variety of firearms you own. I too would like to know more about the laws there, which seem pretty different from those of the UK.
