Looking for reliable 9 mm for CCW

Hope everyone is doing well!

I just recently joined the blog this afternoon and am looking forward to participating with my fellow Americans and firearms enthusiasts. I work in LE and am hugely familiar with firearms and enjoy shooting and sporting a great deal. I typically carry my 3" 1911 while off duty or our Sig 229 .40 Typically I'll wear my S&W BG on my ankle should I not feel like putting something on my waste. I typically carry .45s or.40s. I also enjoy shooting .45 and 9mm over the .40. I find it a little snappy. Being a bigger guy typically allows for the firearm to stick out a little more, which is why I am in the market for a new, reliable and concealable 9mm. I would ideally like something a little more lightweight, but with a full size feel, high capacity and also not looking to break the bank here!

Here are my choices in no order, please comment!!!

Springfield XDM 9mm
Glock 17/19
Walther PPS 9mm
Sig SP2022
Ruger SR9 (I have the SR40 and am considering trading it for the 9mm)

I am also not entirely sure what else may be out there. I live in MA so the laws and restrictions are a bit more restrictive here than throughout the remainder of the Nation. I am looking forward to your responses and reason.

If you like the ruger you might investigate and see if a conversion barrel is available and then you can shoot both calibers with the same pistol, if you want something different then the Sig SP2022 is reasonable in price (under 400.) and I think is one of the best kept secrets in handguns, very accurate,solid, reliable and has different size handgrips to fit shooter.

I really like my sr9c I bought it for the reasons you said feels like a fulsize high cap and still enjoyable to shoot at the range but I am smaller so for summer carry I am looking for a pocket 9 probaly a sheild or lc9 with a galloway trigger

glock 17 - done by glock
these guns have been tested and documented to have failure after 22,000 rounds - some even longer

Glock fan here. Go with G19 for concealment and other, general-purpose uses.
I'd also recommend getting a set of good night sights.

Although I agree with you regarding the reliability of Beretta and Sig226 - they are far too bulky heavy for what I'm looking for.They are great duty guns, though in 9mm, I'm not convinced.

Good luck on that mass Glock. I have seen those prices and wouldn't get one at those prices (although I do think the 19 fits the bill as I read it)
You could also add M&P to that list, compact or FA depending on your preference. But expect to do a trigger job on the MA trigger (I had one. That trigger was horrible. APEX DCAEK for the win)

I don't carry but if I did, of my current firearms, I'd carry my FNX-9. Review here. Or HK P30S. I don't own, but I've shot and like the CZ P-01 and P-07 Duty, both perfect for carry.

All the choices you had are good ones. I do suggest Glock though as always.
