New to the Forum

Hello just joined the forum very excited to get helpful information. I a fairly new to shooting and would love any information I am given. My first question (of many more im sure) is if anyone knows the best way to know the laws of my state, I live in NJ I know the basics but I have some questions and wanted to know the best way to find simple answers. Like I was wondering, I have my own handguns but am I allowed to borrow my husbands and go to the range and vise versa We both have different handguns but also different schedules so we can't always go together Thank you for all your help and future help

Don't have a clue. Try asking that at your favorite gun shop, or local NRA and see if they know were you can get a copy of NJ gun laws.

Welcome also from Jersey, If you go to N.J. State Police web site they have the firearms laws on there.

You betcha. I guess "prosperity" is pretty good in NJ, but "liberty"? Or is it the "Garden State"? I can't remember. Good luck deciphering those oppressive NJ gun laws. ;)

It really is such a pain here. Was just at the station applying for 2 new permits and started talking to a cop who was so annoyed at the process he is good enough to be a cop but has trouble with his personal collection go figure

Some legislators just don't get it ...in states where gun laws are relaxed and more in line with constitutional rights, crime has dropped......

I couldn't agree with you more. My husband who got his license 5 years ago has rifles and handguns we recently moved and he went in for an address change and made a mistake on the application. He misread a question and now we had to hire a lawyer for 2,500!! Just in the hopes that he can keep his license It is now in the hands of the superior court. But when he first applied he answered everything the same way but for some reason now it's a problem. I hope it works out but if not I will just keep applying and he can get what he wants it's really unfair. BTW the question was something like have you ever been convicted of a crime that you could've been in jail for a specific amount of years and he put no. He was in trouble when he was 17 for being a stupid teenager and never thought he was convicted because he never went to jail or anything but because he saw a judge that is convicted. what a great state :)
