i bought my second ccw yesterday,or should i say i put it on layaway .I got the Springfield XD 40 sub-compact for $400,now heres my question what would be a comfortable carry holster for this gun and what would be good load for this smaller gun i was thinkin 165 gr.handloads wahat do ya think?

Welcome, there are many good holsters, pick what you like. The crossbreed type of holster is very popular and works very well for me. as far as rounds go, i will leave that up to you.

Welcome to the site. I'm not carrying my XD 40 yet, so not sure about holsters. My personal opinion is that the 180 grain shoots very well, even though the gun flips a little due to the short barrel.

I can't comment specifically on which holster or handloads for your 40. But, my XD45c has been super reliable and a pleasure to shoot....I am fairly certain you will feel the same about your new 40.
no hand loads for CCing, get factory hollow points and rotate them out every couple of weeks to keep the powder from breaking down to dust. Watch rechambering the same round to many times as it will push the bullet into the case and cause too much pressure when fired
