Howdy...been to Bar Harbor and Monhegan Island a couple of times when I was younger...I'd like to think it is still the same as I remember it beautiful, quiet, uncomplicated and uncommercialized Welcome aboard.

Bar Harbor is commercialized beyond belief. Rt 1 from Kittery to Bar Harbor is absolutely choked with traffic from "Away" in the summer. We tend to stay away during the tourist season.

And Shipwreck - That's MAINEIAC and we're proud of it! Our boys and girls with the 101st Air Refueling wing out of Bangor refuels a lot of the aircraft coming from the war zones and the tip of their KC-135 tails has MAINEIACS painted on it and we're proud of those kids.

Bangor International has troop greeters that meet every troop plane that lands here. Great welcome for those returning from "over there".
