    Hello, I am planning to buy a handgun for personal protection and I joined to learn about guns so I can make as a good choice as possible. I am a 48 year old woman who has never owned a gun before.

    Welcome fro central Ohio. This is a good place to get info. but don't forget to look into classes. Your local NRA probably has good beginning classes, look them up and see what might in your area.
