Welcome to the site!
Hello all,
I'm 21 and I am left handed. I'm in the market for a handgun now and I'm looking to see what my options are being a lefty.

(RIP, Mr. Camp; you will be remembered, and missed)
i am also lefty and don't notice a big difference in shooting any gun. i think the big difference comes in the manuel safety and the mag release. there are some guns made with ambidextrious safeties and a lot of guns you can swap the mag release to the other side. not to bore you with stories but i had an m&p that i did swap the mag release and i had trouble shooting it cause i kept dropping the mag while i was shooting, so much i had to swap it back. most of my semi-autos are glocks which have no manual safeties and carry ten rounds. when empty most situations should be over. s&w has that new bodyguard 38 that does have a cylinder release on the top of the back strap which is accessible with either hand
Welcome from the Lone Star State.
welcome from southern oregon......... and an ambi shooter. when i shoot left the only real issue is the slide release and its easily hit with the middle finger of the right hand as you are supporting your left.
Thank you all for the welcoming gestures. I actually went shooting with some friends this past weekend. I handled my buddies glock hand gun and I did not like how it operated being left handed. Over all it was a nice firearm though. I'm definitely going to be taking my time doing my homework and getting some time in at the range before I make any purchases though. Hopefully I can find the right firearm for myself soon though.
can you be more specific on what you didn't like maybe i can be more help?
