Just A thought or two

WELCOME TO THE FORUM AND WHY YOU WILL ENJOY IT
I for the most part try to never put down or bash anything I don't agree with as I feel the right to decide is what most of us have fought for over the years. But this morning looking over one of the other forums involved with the 1911--it really made me think just how much we need to support and be a hearty part of this forum. The 1911 forum shall remain nameless but just a few notes--first , one of our younger members was on there a while back and was quickly branded a TROLL by this real bright bunch--never really saw anything he did to rate that--MODS who close threads because others don't agree with them--even say they will ban someone who brings up certain things they don't agree with--only they can decide who is an active and productive member--no set rule--but what really got me was when time after time new posters are so scared they will be ban that they start the tread with Mr. MOD if this is in the wrong or if I am breaking a rule--hard to know what rule you broke when they can set them as they go..

AND YES BEFORE YOU ASK,, I was banned on one of the forums--I found out I had a problem using lead bullets to reload and listed them for sale--when I reduced the price it was called SPAM--but funny--I had called down a MOD for the way he treated someone--

Yes, some of the people at the 1911 forums are Soup Nazis - I have witnessed similiar things.

To begin with...Heck, I'm still a new guy here for the most part.
But, I have witnessed the samething myself. I was taking part in a couple of other "unnamed" forums until I found this one... Now I only post here. I like really the folks... We have "good chemistry" in here. Everyone for the most part seems to be respectiful & helpful & welcoming to one another, even though we are from different backgrounds, tastes & ages etc,etc... now just how that happen.. I can't figure that part out, but I'm glad. I don't think we give Shipwreck & JS "MUCH" grief, and they participate more than other Mods of said forums, which is great.
So WELCOME folks... this is a quaility group of folks here... just nice guys & AND GALS (Pickle & MM).
One last thing... 2400 pointed out a Donate tab on his screen...I have looked high & low and even changing to the HEX screen & I'll be d@mned if I can find it. As Charlie stated... I would gladly skip a box of ammo or two every now & then to contribute to the cause.....I never claimed to be a rocket surgeon...

Hey, Rusty! Thanks! I can't speak for "Pickle", but I love hangin' here with you guys.

I also know the forum of which you speak. It has a bunch of knowledgeable folks as members, but there is one Mod in particular who is a real piece of work. Pretty abusive, IMO.

But you were right.

That forum is a *great* forum for learning about the venerable 1911. However, IMO it is moderated with a very heavy hand. Maybe it just got so large that the Mods decided not to deal with things other than by hitting the Ban button. I don't know, but it is best to keep a low profile in them there parts.
