Hello all! Name's vulrath, and I'm a (soon to be) new owner of a fresh-from-the-factory SIG P226 in 9mm (with night sights, of course; I'm looking to purchase in the next week or so). I look forward to my stay on these forums as while I may know a great deal about replica firearms (I collect them in my spare time), I don't know nearly as much about the real thing.
Anyway, I look forward to learning from those of you that have been doing this for way longer than I have.
I picked up a used P226 (waaay used, lol; the slide is stamped with "Herndon VA" and "West Germany") over this past weekend (late birthday present to myself). Took it to the range Sunday; while I won't say I have the skills for pinpoint accuracy, the equipment definitely has the potential. I'm loving it, and I can't wait to have the time to get back out to the range.
I've come to believe that myself. I mean, they must have done something right if my (suspected; I know for sure it was made between '87 and '90, but beyond that I'm stumped) 22-year-old P226 can keep pace with my buddy's much newer S&W 9mm.
I love this little thing, and I hope to be able to get my carry permit within the next couple of years, but that's not going to happen for a while, so in the meantime, I'm gonna kill me some zombies (paper targets, lol).
