Hey there.
I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I am new to shooting real guns. I am a huge hockey and paintball fan. I just recently got addicted to guns through a few buddies that let me shoot some 9mm and a .45.
I am planning on purchasing a .22 rifle, as well as a 9mm for HD. There is going to a be a gun show here in a few weeks and hopefully I can try out most 9mm there instead of having to pay $15 to rent one every time at the range. Since I haven't been to a gun show before, I hope they aren't so packed so that I will only be able to try a few diferent 9mms.
Once I have tried a lot of different kinds, I will take a hand gun 101 course, then finally buy one!
Be prepared for many a questions...if I can't find them answered in search, of course.

Welcome from the great state of Texas.
Welcome bro... from Minnesota myself. Big hockey fan out here as well. Not really sure if you know this, but we aren't required to take a basic 101 pistols class here in this state. You can just fill out your application for a permit to purchase and turn it in at your local police department for free. Unless you are completely new and clueless about basic functions and disassembly, I probably would just skip the 101 class and go for something more advanced... but that's just me though.
Anyways, a warm welcome to you again. Enjoy your stay here at the boards.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I was going to apply for my permit and get a gun but I figured since I have only shot once, it would be better to go to a course and learn all the fundamentals correctly instead of developing bad habits. But, we'll see. Thanks again!
