    New from the Bay Area, CA

    Hey all

    I've been looking through the threads here and there researching and finally I have purchased my new handgun. Although I have to say I'm jealous of everyone who doesn't live in CA, we are just being tortured here with all the rules and regs not to mention the outrageous ammo prices.

    Well I just wanted to share that today was a great day.

    Took the stupid HSC test and aced it. What a pointless test. Saw the Sig P226 I wanted for a relatively good price, in my area, $895. Cut 3% for cash. Plus there was a special for buy a gun and get free ammo. They will give you 10% of the gun's purchase towards free ammo so basically $90 of free ammo!!

    Now I play the waiting game for 10 days and boy am I excited!

    Welcome from a fellow Bay Area shooter! The laws and restrictions do suck here, the worst being the handicapped magazine capacities and inability to obtain a CHL. But they are still a long way from disarming us, so after those antsy 10 days, get out there and represent all the safe, sane gun owners that live here.

    Do you mind if I ask what shop gave you the 10% ammo deal?

    I hope she doesn't stand a chance of being re-elected, let alone be a slam dunk. Sorry to say, but California gets what they elect...and that includes all the silly gun laws.

    Seriously, people don't understand. They're making it harder for good citizens to get guns when the bad guys can get them anyways. You think they go through background checks and register and have pinned mags for 10 rounds??
