Welcome from Eastern North Carolina.
Well, you could call me brand spankin' new. After shooting and enjoying it, I've decided its time to own a handgun. In the next month or two I'll be making a decision. So far I've narrowed it down to either a .40 S&W or 9mm. It will be mostly used for shooting at the range and possibly home defense, though I'm looking into a shotgun for that. Anyway, I'm up for suggestions if you have them. My top interests in 9mm right now are CZ sp01, CZ 75B, and Springfield XD9. Not so sure on .40's yet. Glad to be joining the forum.![]()

IMO, go with a 9mm as your first gun. Ammo is cheaper, so you can afford to shoot more and loaded with a premium defense round, it's just as capable of stopping someone. Remember, it's shot placement and not just the size of the hole or how fast the bullet goes.
