New member from texas

Hello everyone, new here as well as a new to handguns. Took the leap 2 weeks ago and purchased a XDm 9mm and am hooked bad. Just love it (the gun) and shooting at the gun club I joined here. Use to shoot trap (alot) prior to joining the Navy but didn't pick up a gun except in boot camp to qualify for the entire 20 years of service. Guess it had to do with the wife and her anti-gun in the house thinking no doubt because of the 2 curious boys I had running around but with one graduated and the other fixing to, she is ok with it now. She even took a turn at putting a couple of rounds down range and liked it. Anyway, plan on taking the CHL course with her and will likely get a carry gun. Youngest son is also wetting his teeth at becoming a handgunner also, he has a 38 revolver and will be home in a couple of weeks to shoot with me at the range, a little bonding time for the two of us. I'm retired from the Navy (20 years 3 days) but who counts. Living and working here in southeast Texas, enjoy birding and photography and golf but this new hobby has it hands down. Looking to return east when I can (to hot) here for a transplanted Canadian. Will return to the wifes hometown area in Highpoint NC but I guess that will be down the road. Sorry didn't mean to write a book here, I close now and look forward the hearing from any and all.
