    New from NC also

    Hello all, I'm new at everything except forums. I belong to many others related to boating, woodworking, my biz,(transmissions) and on and on.

    Laurie my wife and I have made the mutual decision to become proficient with personal protection due to changes we're uncomfortable with. We've been to one gun show, started selecting our first purchase and came here to learn as much as possible from folks that already know or have experience.

    So thanks in advance for all your advice, help, etc. As time goes on maybe we'll be able to help someone else!

    Thanks again everyone, the search continues for the first weapon but I'm now armed with enough info that I'm close to a decision. When I'm armed, I'll post. Anyway, JohnR, I'm in Vass NC about 15 min. from Pinehurst. Right now we live in a gated community but are already prepping our house for sale to move to acreage nearby which is one of the reasons for our search. Our home is on the lake, at 1200 acres big enough to ski and pwc on. Excellent fishing, tubing etc. We currently own an 06 24' Bentley pontoon with a 115 4 stroke for cruising and watersports for the kids/grandkids.

    We moved here from Cleveland, where I fished Lake Erie almost every sunday in a 19' bowrider and with a partner owned a 28' Aftcabin. Never been on a ragboat, looking forward to our first time at the end of this year. If anyone is interested, go to www.nationwidetranny.com where you'll see both of us.
