    Newb from Maryland.

    Been reading the forum for awhile while researching a new pistol. Hadn't shot for years and originally was looking for a 1911. After handling a Sprinfield XD 45 tactical I changed my mind. Have been to the range a couple times, put a few hundred rounds throught it. Going again tomorrow.
    Can't believe how quick this has come back to me. Next will be a pistol for the wife, a shotgun, a 1911, and a shotgun... Maybe an AR.

    So you'll probably do most of your range shooting at On Target I assume? That's where I go usually about once a week.

    Last time I was there I tried renting the xd45 and there was a problem with it (striker not hitting the primer hard enough) Ended up with a Kimber Gold Match. I want to go back and see if they got the Xd cleaned and firing correctly. I think I have my next gun narrowed down to the XD45 or an H&K 45.

    Yep, have already put about 400 rounds through it with no problems in a few visits. Will be taking the wife soon to have her try a few rentals. From what I've seen and heard rentals are hit and miss on how they are kept up.

    I saw your reply, thought I'd hit you back. I got to Continetal Arms in Cockeysville. They've got a very good range and alot of demos(glock, S&W,Sprgfld,Hk,Bertta,Kimber,Colt. "no" Sr9 thou.) I'm in Hampstead.
