Welcome from southeast Texas. The addiction has started!!![]()
New guy here and I have been messing around with the idea of arming myself. At first it was mostly a protection thing so I guess I just never kicked it into gear. Well that said I was traveling on business last week and went to an indoor range with a couple of others and now I am hooked. Pleasently surprised also in that I didn't get a "power" thing but was just purely amazed at the satisfaction of control and confidence. This was the first time I ever shot anything beyond a pellet gun, I'm 50. I shot an AR 15, holy crap! and then shot quite a few rounds with a S&W M&P 9mm, not sure but I think it was full sized frame. The 9mm fit in my hand like it was made for it, even the guy that owned siad that to me. By the second clip I was able to shoot groups. It was a great experiance and now I am going to start shopping and take the classes. I just need some self control while shopping, lol, I still might end up with that same model 9mm but need to try some other too. Thanks for listening and see you around in here. Oh yeah I am also open to suggetions as a start up shooter!

Welcome from Northern Arizona
Welcome!
Welcome aboard from Pinellas County. It's always good to see another Floridian join the fold.
Check at your local range to see whether they offer the N.R.A. Safety Course. It will help you to better understand the different types of manual of arms of various pistols and revolvers.
Also the instructor can answer many questions that you have yet to think of.
Good and safe shooting.
Welcome to the site!
Welcome from North Carolina
Sarasota waving hi.
A warning.
It's addictive.

Welcome from the People's Republic of NJ, where even thinking of gun rights tags you as right-wing whacko nut who just wants to kill people.
You need to catch up. I didn't think ANYONE in FL was without at least a couple of handguns. My wife's family is in the Ft. Lauderdale/Sunrise area and when we visit, everyone in the clan shows off their new toys and makes sure we spend some quality family bonding time on the various ranges there. It just seems so "right".
Good luck with your shopping. I like my M&P a lot, and it shoots well for me.

Greetings from Orlando, FL.
Welcome from central North Carolina.
The "Force is strong in this one". If you like full size check out a Beretta 92 or M9. It is a venerable classic handgun that seems to never lose style and shoots extremely well out of the box.
I just bought my first AR15 and I can't believe I did not buy one years ago. They are soooo much fun to shoot. Coyotes, prarie dogs and gophers don't stand a chance. LOL![]()
