retired FF/PM, new handgun owner, Wisconsin

      Hello everyone.

I've been doing a lot of reading and found some great information.

      Thanks to all contributors.

As for myself, I just retired after 30 yrs in the fire service. Never owned a handgun but always had an interest. My wife gave me the OK to buy myself a retirement present.

After looking around, I ended up getting a Stoeger Cougar in 40 S&W from Gander Mountain.

I took a couple of lessons at the local indoor range (Fletcher Arms in Waukesha). I can't say enough good things about the range and my instructor, Bob.

I had a blast and learned a lot. I'm hooked!

      Lots of questions to follow.

      Thanks people.

My wife and I will be moving to the Orlando area in the next couple of years. Our daughter is a killer whale trainer at Sea World. It'll be nice to be closer to her and our son-in-law.

I'm hoping to get a concealed carry permit once we move down (Wisconsin politics SUCK).

I'm now heading to the reloading forums. That looks to be a natural adjunct to this sport.
