    Hello From NJ

    Hey ALL!

    Well...it has been one full year...yes you heard right one full year. After SEVERAL phone calls to my local police department I have finally received my permits to purchase a handugn.

    Yes. Dead serious. Meanwhile, my roomate from college/best friend is a NJ State Trooper, and a good friend's father is a police officer at my local police department. I live in South Jersey about 20 min from Philadelphia.

    I'm glad you stuck it out and got your Purchase Permit. A lot of people from the "real" world can not conceive of the problems involved just to buy a handgun in N.J. When I lived there, I finally gave up. When I moved to Fl, I purchased my first handgun within two months.
    South Jersey eh? Are you going looking for the Jersey Devil?
    Good luck with whatever you purchase. Your next step would be to find a range and get some safety and shooting instruction.
    Keep us posted. There is a special sub-forum for each state so maybe you can get together with one of the few other Jersey-ites and go burn some powder.

    Welcome! We must live pretty close to each other then. Im also in SJ about 30 min from Philly. Dont own any firearms myself yet (i can explan some other time) but am an enthusiast none the less. Welcome again.

    Thank's for all the warm welcomes. I am actually considering a move to PA in the near future. It will be a business move, but from what I hear gettinga permit to carry in PA goes something like "Do you have a pulse?"
