new guy from Illinois

hello everyone.

ive been reading around on here for a little while now.
im 100% new to handguns and have shot a few diffrent rifles before, i have been hunting with my dad a few times in michigan, with his rifles.

since i live in illinois(i know..illinois sucks) i had to register for my F.O.I.D. card so i can legally purchase a firearm and ammo. once i get the FOID card in the mail i will be going to my local gun store to purchase my first firearm. Springfield Armory XD-9mm 4"(black)(illinois has a 72 hour cool down period before you can take delivery of handguns after purchase), some range ammo, some decent cleaning and lubing supplies, and a few extra 16rnd magazines.

my dad owns 2 hunting rifles and has very slowly been building a post ban AR-15 to use for hunting...ever since ive been getting into guns a little more ive been trying to influence him to spend more time on it so i can shoot it.

anyways...ill be around reading and researching.

i am a member on xdtalk but alot of people think im a troll because im from illinois and i asked peoples opinions about concealed carry. i was just interested in the topic because i dont know much about it and thought id ask a question because questions are the best way to learn.

i will post pics of my new purchase in about a week or so when i take delivery.
