i am by no means a fan of glocks, but i do know many friends with glocks (mostly cops) that have surpassed the 20k mark without any mortal damage to the gun. i sold both of the glocks i owned before they hit 2k rounds because i couldn't trust the reliability, they both had jamming problems. i think that most quality handguns can last that long and longer. my beretta 92fs has close to 40k rounds through it, and the sig 229 has over 10k. in short, i wouldn't worry about it.

It's BS. Who are these "experts?"

Writer/instructor Chuck Taylor (from whom I have taken a class and shared several meals) has a Glock 17 with in excess of 175,000 rounds through it. It looks like crap - hey, it's a Glock - but still works fine.

I'm not anal about record keeping with my guns, and I've only been a Glock shooter for about two years, but each of mine (a 17 and a 26) probably has in excess of 5,000 rounds through them, and likely more. I have replaced no parts (except sights on the 17) and the guns show little wear. I seldom even bother to clean them - about every six months - and they just keep going and going like the Energizer Bunny.

I don't know that Glocks are more durable than some other guns like HK, SIG, etc. But they're easily among the more durable guns out there.

I think most any gun made today will outlast it's owner if met half way with a little maintenance and care. Look at all the old guns still going strong after years of service and some shot a lot. I don't think the polmer guns will hold their value like the old S&W or Colt but they will still be around.

So far, 3,000+ rounds out of my 6 month old Glock 35.

No issues at all.

I know a guy who owned G19 from early 90s, has just over 60,000 rounds through it, from what he says with zero malfunctions.

Most pistols will never see 20K rounds. They are bought, shot, safed and sold.
400 boxes of ammo through a pistol is a lot of shooting. That being said, I will definitely trust my Glocks to reach and exceed that plateau more than my other handguns.
I don't keep count of rounds fire, but my wallet says a lot.

Had to take it back to the shop for the second time due to feed failures and failing to lock the slide at rear most with an empty mag. Ended up gettin two new mags for free as it was determined that the ones that came with it weren't pushing up on the locker enough. I have a 31 and got a pair of 22 mags. Haven't tried it with them yet. Gun's seen about 300 rounds and has shot every time a round made it into the chamber.

...and before anyone doubts the joint's diagnostic, the guy there is a certafied Glock... ugh, person.

I have over 6,000 rounds thru the 9mm, and 3000 thru the 10mm....still have not had a hiccup on either one.

I've shot probably 3-4K rounds through my GLOCK 19 and never had a problem, knock on wood.

I'm getting close to 3000 thru my G22, in about 6 weeks....
Not a hiccup, cough or sneeze out of it, Blazer brass, Blazer alum, WWB, Cheap range reloads, Lawman 357 sig thru the Storm lake barrel, don't think I could get it to fail if I tried. I even tried limp wristing it, as I've heard that can cause failures, just keeps firing.

Glocks are like the EverReady bunny.

The only time I ever had a problem with a Glock was when my G-17 sat for five years under some sweaters. My brother had just bought his first firearm a G-21C and wanted to go shooting. The mag was empty in my Glock and he asked if I needed to oil it first. I told him it's a Glock and will shoot no matter what. It jammed on me to the point I gave up shooting it after the first 17 rounds. (every other round)

When I got home I cleaned it and accept for that one time I never had a problem and have put over 10K through it. I have only replaced the extractor. It's a generation one and I will never get rid of it.
