Taurus M800?
I was paging through a gun mag the other day and came across a Taurus that was captioned M800 but in the picture the gun had PT809 on the slide. I haven't been able to find anything on them. Curious to see if anyone knows about that gun/model. Thanks.

The Taurus web site doesn't list an 800.
It's possible that it was just a typo or error. As I understand it, the people who write captions for gun rags are very often not shooters. At a glance, the "809" might have appeared as "800," so the copywriter typed it that way. Then the editor didn't catch it.
It happens.

From the talk over at another forum, the "800" is to be a new series. I presume that the 809 will be the 9 mm, with others to follow. There is a pic of it on the Taurus site. Go to the Taurus home page. On the left side, click on "Press Room". When that page opens, go about half way down to find the "809". It shows what appears to be a C.C.W. size gun. It has an exposed hammer. I have a PT 92, and I think that it would be a compliment piece to the 92. IF Taurus ever gets it on the market.

It is a new variation based on the 24/7 OSS with exposed hammer, ambi safety, decocker and mag release (for you lefty's). Should be in 9mm, 40s&w and 45cal. at some point.
Just one more reason to buy another Taurus ;)

It's in Guns and Ammo this month. Good read.

That's funny that you mentioned that because I just read that article yesterday sitting in my lazy boy. And yes...it was a very good read. I know that 24/7 has got ALOT of pub and recognition in the last couple of years but I'm still hearing rumblings about jamming and feeding issues. Mostly in .45 But I guess I can't totally disregard them because the 24/7 pro in 9mm SS w/ Heinie sights and a lifetime warranty for $375 ain't bad. :smt023
