Sometimes it depends on how many of my friends they have been with. :smt082
Oh.......sorry, I misunderstood............:smt082:smt082:smt082:smt 082
Twice a year.
I couldn't answer that as I shoot everything I got fairly often. I don't think I got a gun that isn't shot about every two momths. When I am done they get a good cleaning and are put up.
Great post and it hit home with me. I'm starting to weed out those queens and replace them with kings. I just got rid of my Glock 30 because I stopped taking it to the range. I loved that gun and carried it for a year but noticed it was hanging out in the safe doing nothing so I found it a nice home. I hope to replace it with a Para 1911 soon but I have to weed out one more. The word is out at the safe and for some reason all the guns are shooting much better. I think they all want to stay. (Guns are people too)
I only have one safe queen - I divested myself of all the others a year or two ago. I clean/wipe it down when I shoot it, which is maybe twice a year. But I live in AZ, with very, very little humidity.
It depends on the enviroment in which it kept. Mine are wiped down every 3 monthes reguardless. I have humidity control devices and temp control, but I love getting them out to look at. The ones that are out of the safe and in glass front cabinets every 30 to 90 days as well as the 3 on the walls.
Im like Baldy...........whats a safe queen???:anim_lol:
I guess I am like some others here, I don't own a safe Queen unless you count my black powder revolvers since I only shoot them once every year or two.
I bought one recently. A Colt Army Special. I don't even have any ammo for it. It had sentimental value. It was made in 1911. (MY favorite year.)

In a matter of speaking - every gun I own besides my two carry guns (Keltec and P99 compact) are safe queens. I never holster them, and carry them in their boxes back and forth to the range. But, I reoil the rails and wipe them down 1x a month - so they are ready the next time I go shoot.
An old co-worker used to tease me about my "museum pieces" as he called them.
I can't afford one.
