Can't speak for the SW but I have a Tanfoglio TZ 75 (pretty much the same as the witness) and it has been flawless so far.(about 2000 rounds downrange). Just my .02
I'm trying to decide on a new 9mm, and have it down to these two. The Witness is the wonder finish, 18 rnd mag. The SW9VE is blk/ss, 16 rnd. Both have what I think are excellent prices. The Witness is $336 and the SW9 is $239. I'd buy both if I could get away with it. I'm looking for comparisons from anyone who has experience with both.
Thanks

The EAA is built like a tank and a very good firearm overall but if you have trouble with it your screwed, their customer service, buy all accounts I have read, blows. If it is your first or will be your only gun I would go with the Smith due to customer service but they are both great guns for the money.
I bought an sw9ve several months ago, and I think it is a terrific gun. $239 as a new price is outstanding! I took some pix:

I say, get the sw9ve.
After driving 90 miles to Bud's, they didn't have a Witness or a Cougar to look at. They did have the SW9ve. That has to be the worst trigger I have ever felt. No wonder they're so cheap.
However... After he showed me a S&W M&P 9mm for $400, I was happy. NIB, extra mag, and a heck of a lot better trigger.
I have the EAA Witness in the "Wonder" finish chambered in 9mm. My wife actually bought it because she liked how it fit her tiny hand. Shoots nice, buddy of mine has it in 10mm and he likes his too. Can't go wrong with a CZ75 design and Jeff Cooper said the CZ75 was one of the finest handguns ever made.
I think the current Sigma's are fairly nice firearms now, but like many new designs the early ones had problems and gained a bad rep, which at the time was deserved, but not anymore. The S&W M&P is just a glorified Sigma, so it go for it![]()
I'd go for what feels best in your hand and if you can try and shoot either of them first.
