you guys ever have days when u are off

for me shooting is just like pitching in baseball.you see pros when they are so good ,, they always hit the mark.... then you see the same guy, not be able to get one accross the plate....for me shooting is the same.... i have days when my grouping is 90%...then along will come a day when im glad

now ive quit drinking, so its not that ... but its sure hard to figure.
im not gonna be able to tell the mugger to come back tommorrow,, cause im off my game. most of my practice is for muggers ,so in reality hes probably gonna be a lot closer than my 25 ft practice distance...still an off day can sure cause an attitude adjustment.

Short answer. Yes. Everybody has bad days at the range but that don't mean you forgot how to shoot. Practice and more practice is what will give you the edge over a BG. Remember a bad day at the range is still better than a good day at work. Good Shooting.

I'd be happy if I'd have the occasional day "on."

Your 25 ft. range sounds just right for protection practice. Any closer and a knife or club can take you out before your gun is out of the holster. Dont let them get any closer.

I used to have good days and bad days. As I get older it has transitioned from good bullets to bad bullets. Therefore my plan to double tap if it should become necessary. I even plan on triple tap if the BG doesn't fall fast enough.

I just blame the gun, it's just easier that way.

Bad shooting is the result of loss of concentration. You need to actually think "Sights. Trigger," as you practice. Even under stress conditions.

Given a fair physical condition and decent gun/ammunition, concentration is 99% of pistol shooting.

I never have a bad day in shooting. Rapid fire with my G23 at 100 yards and I rip one hole in the bulls eye with 1,500 rounds with no flyer. Really... no really, it's da truth. I would never be dishonest here among my friends. Really...

That explains it, here I thought I was missing when all the time bullets were following each other through the same hole. Thanks tnoisaw, I feel much better now. :smt1099

I think Bob nailed it. I know some trips to the range I'm putting one big ragged hole in the target at 30'. But some days I just don't do that well. I usually ascribe it to "not seeing the sights well (that day)". But I think it really is more about concentration. I play a lot of golf and see the impact concentration (or lack of it) has on my level of play. With shooting, if I am with my wife I may be paying too much attention to how she's doing and my shooting suffers.
